SEVCA began operating in Bellows Falls in 1965 as a community action agency under the Economic Opportunity Act. Parks Place Community Resource Center Founded in 1992, Parks Place Community Resource Center is recognized as the hub of health and human services in the Greater Falls Area. They work closely with other agencies to identify gaps in services and strengthen connections between our neighbors and the services they need. Greater Falls Connections (GFC) is a coalition of a diverse group of community members. We are parents, youth, educators, social service providers, business owners, health care providers, civil servants, artists, and neighbors. We serve the Windham Northeast Supervisory Union (WNESU) area, including Rockingham (Bellows Falls, Saxtons River, Bartonsville, Brockways Mills, and Cambridgeport), Westminster, Grafton, and Athens. Alcohol/Substance Use Recovery
Turning Point Recovery Center of Springfield
Turning Point is a peer based network of support for all people affected by any type of addiction. Our mission is to enhance the spiritual, mental, physical, and social growth of our community affected by any form of addiction. Turning Point seeks to facilitate recovery of individuals and their families by providing: a substance-free environment, drop-in center, meeting location, recovery coach program, facilitated groups, substance-free social functions, transitional housing program, and a prevention / resource referral network for services in the area. The center focuses on rebuilding the community, and providing a positive outlook for individuals seeking help with addiction and throughout the recovery process. Starting July 10th, Turning Point will be opening a drop-in center at the carriage house behind Parks Place Community Center in Bellows Falls. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous (AA/NA)
Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous run support groups for men and women who are recovering from addiction to either alcohol or drugs. Both meetings are confidential and free to join. AIDS Project of Southern Vermont
Founded by volunteers in 1988 as a grassroots, community based group, the AIDS Project now fills an important statewide role in making sure the fight against the AIDS epidemic is strong and effective. The AIDS Project of Southern Vermont is a regional AIDS service organization providing direct services to people living with HIV/AIDS and HIV prevention services to those at most risk in Windham, Bennington, and southern Windsor counties. Springfield Supported Housing Program
Springfield Supported Housing Program helps families and individuals in Windsor and northern Windham Counties who were either homeless, or in danger of losing their housing, find permanent, affordable housing. The head-of-household participant must be at least 18 years of age, and must demonstrate an ability to pay rent. If accepted into the program, the SSHP Program Coordinator contacts landlords and advocates for the Participant(s). If accepted by a landlord, Participants prepare a Transition Plan with the Coordinator’s assistance. Participants receive at home case management for 6 months to two years.
