New Justice Murals

Last spring semester, our Afghan muralist partner, Negina Azimi, produced a mural in conjunction with a class at Leland and Gray High School.

She also developed a justice-themed “cranky” with Sandglass Theater for presentations in schools. These projects were funded by our Ben and Jerry’s grant. Negina is shown here with Jana Zeller Bass of Sandglass.

With funding from the Vermont Arts Council, in conjunction with the Rockingham Arts and Museum Project (RAMP),  and led by Bellows Falls muralist Mark Ragonese, we painted a mural with participation from fathers who graduated from our Parenting with Respect course and their children, assisted by other community volunteers. The mural, based on a wood jigsaw puzzle design where everyone paints and stamps each individual piece, was later installed on the old fire station building in Bellows Falls. We were also assisted by two Afghani women muralists who recently settled in southern Vermont as refugees.
